Mike Wilbur
|
Mike
has been with the Davis Fire Crew since 1990. After working on the fire
line for 11 years, he has moved into the roll of DFC Crew Organizer. In 2002, Mike
started a fire crew transport company called Wilbur Wildland Fire
Transport (WWFT), and that company, with it's 8 employees, frequently
takes our crews on many of their dispatches. WWFT is closely associated
with Davis Fire Crew & many times they work as one organization.
Additionally, Mike owns a party rental company named Airplay Events.
Frequently during the fire season, DFC employees have the opportunity
to work with Airplay Events as well to earn some extra cash between
fires. Additionally Mike has a small business as a dealer in new and used
music CD's. For fun Mike snowboards and collects old beer cans... yes...
you heard that right... old beer cans from the 1930's - 1950's. He has
1000's!

Brandon Miller

Brandon joined the Davis Fire Crew in
2001 and worked in every position on the crew - firefighter, squad
leader, sawyer, and crew leader and even a driver for Mike's WWFT company
- before becoming a crew organizer in 2005. Brandon grew up on a farm in Iowa (not to be confused with Idaho or Ohio). After graduating from
the University of Iowa
(Go Hawkeyes!) with a BS in Civil Engineering, Brandon worked for two
years for Caterpillar, Inc.
in Peoria, Illinois, where caught the "fire bug" while serving
as a volunteer firefighter/EMT on the Peoria Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
Seeking to further his education, he headed out west to the University of
California-Davis (Go Aggies!). Brandon is currently pursuing his PhD
in Biological Systems Engineering at UC Davis, studying how low back
injuries are caused by work tasks, such as being bent over all
day digging fireline. In his spare time Brandon enjoys reading articles on Wikipedia, working,
and battling Mike in "Call of Duty" games.
